Landon and I went on a field trip with his school yesterday. We were headed to a nearby ski resort. We left the school on time about 8am. We stopped for breakfast about 9:30. Now, this was Turkish breakfast that all the moms had packed. There was every type of pastry you could imagine, olives, and several carafes of tea. I think there was enough to feed an army. We finished up there, got back on the bus. I was thinking it would take about 2.5 hours to get to the ski resort, so at this point I was thinking we just had a little longer to go. On a side note, Landon loved the bus and just looked out the window most of the time. We stopped in a little village a little up the mountain and toured a mosqued with something historic in it. Then we stopped a little further up to see an important person's grave. However, there was a little booth with toys, so we didn't make it to the grave site. Landon thinks we stopped to visit the "toy store"! Then we head back DOWN the mountain. At this point I ask someone what we're doing. Turns out everyone had thought since we were so close to these important places we would take the detour. Now, I do want to give some credit to my Turkish. I was asked if it was okay with me to stop at these places, but somehow I missed that they weren't on the way! Anyway, we head back up another mountain and at about 12:30 stop on the side of the road with what looks like a lot of other people. Someone said we can't go any further right now, so let's play hear. I'm thinking okay, but really, we were on the side of the road. Anyway, Landon loved it!! As soon as he saw the first bit of snow he was ready to get out. The first thing he did was lay down on his belly and take a big bite! We played in the snow for about 20min and loaded back in the bus to go find lunch. We made a few more stops in a few more villages before we stopped at a place you could buy meat and grill. They had a nice place for the kids to sit inside and the adults could drink tea. After eating we headed home. I think we spent at least 8 hours on that bus! What a day! We had a great time, though. And Landon's reaction to the snow was priceless!
I've been wanting a headboard for a while now. Scott and I picked one out last night and they brought it this evening. I love it!! I kept waking up last night thinking, "I'm going to have a headboard tomorrow!"
Patrick is doing pretty well in the bed. He sleeps there at night. They still nap in separate rooms because Landon doesn't always nap and chooses to play quietly instead.
I started Patrick in the bottom bunk this week. He did really well. It has taken a few spankings, but he's getting the hang of it. He's so cute when he lays down on the pillow and he doesn't even take up half the bed:) The boys also started napping in the same room this week. That is taking a little getting used to by both of them. Oh, and Patrick has dropped he morning nap. I am so lucky that it lasted this long. He's still fussy in the morning, but he's getting used to it slowly.
